In the endgame of Diablo 4, few things excite a player as much as witnessing a legendary drop with a distinct glow, indicating a Greater Affix. These enhanced stat rolls can elevate your character’s performance, but acquiring them requires both skill and luck.

A Greater Affix is essentially an optimized or enhanced version of an Diablo 4 Items ’s stat roll. For instance, if a standard critical strike damage affix rolls between 20–40%, the Greater Affix version might begin at 50% or higher. This makes them extremely valuable for maximizing performance.

Greater Affixes are primarily associated with high-item-power gear found in World Tier 4 (Torment). If you are still in World Tier 3, concentrate on developing your build to handle tougher content before seriously pursuing them.

Here are the most effective content types for targeting Greater Affix drops: Nightmare Dungeons Tier 50–70, which offer the best balance of difficulty and loot density; Helltide Mystery Chests, known for their high chance of dropping multiple legendaries; World Boss Spawns, which are always worth joining due to their high drop quality; and PvP Blood Harvest Zones, which are surprisingly effective for loot farming, featuring constant elite spawns.

If possible, equip gear that boosts Magic Find. Use Elixirs for experience and incidental stat boosts. Always open every chest and destroy breakable objects, as they can sometimes yield legendaries as well.

Gambling with Obols is a worthwhile risk if you have a substantial stockpile. Focus on your best-performing gear slots. Since items purchased with Obols scale with your level and World Tier, they can roll Greater Affixes just like world drops.

If you discover an item with one perfect Greater Affix but subpar supporting stats, consider investing in Tempering and Masterworking.
